Eleven modules split into two tracks. Concept segments teach the accounting and never expire. Demo segments teach the software and carry a verification date, because QuickBooks Online changes every quarter. You work in your own Bayline company, not in a vendor sample file.
Assumes you can read a trial balance. If you cannot yet, the first module builds that footing before anything is entered.
Modules
- 1 How Accounting Systems Work What a system is doing underneath, and why the debits still matter.
- 2 The Company File and Chart of Accounts Setting up a company, numbering accounts, and the decisions you cannot undo later.
- 3 The Vendor Cycle Bills, payments, credits, and where the money actually posts.
- 4 The Customer Cycle Invoices, receipts, undeposited funds, and why that account exists.
- 5 Inventory and Sales Tax Items, costing, and Florida sales tax on two revenue streams.
- 6 Payroll, After the Fact Gross to net, the payroll journal entry, and booking a service bureau's register.
- 7 Jobs, Projects and Time Tracking Tracking work that has to be profitable on its own.
- 8 Banking and Reconciliation Feeds, rules, matching, and reconciling to a statement that disagrees.
- 9 Period-End Close and Financial Statements Closing the month, the year, and reading what comes out.
- 10 Reports, Customization and Export Building the report somebody actually asked for, then getting it out.
- 11 Building a Company from Scratch Opening balances, mid-year conversion, and proving the result.
Every module opens the same way
The first video in every module is a four-minute overview. It says what the module covers, which files you need, and what you should already be able to do. It is the only segment with nothing on screen, and it is worth watching before the rest even if you plan to skip around.
Getting the files
Each module page carries its own workbooks. Type the address straight from the slide: baylineusa.com/qbo/m1 through baylineusa.com/qbo/m11.
Bayline USA is a fictional company created for instruction. Every name, figure, and document in this material is invented, and identifying numbers are masked. This material is for educational use only. It is not accounting, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional engaged on the facts of a real business. Tax rates, wage bases, filing thresholds, and forms change; verify current authority before applying anything here to real facts.
Taught as ACG 2450 at Miami Dade College, and used for corporate and government training and on public channels. The material itself is course-neutral: nothing in a video names a college or university, a term, or an assignment. Ask about using it at your institution.
